Our mail sys\u00adtem does not enforce pass\u00adword rules, but I still rec\u00adom\u00admend using secure pass\u00adwords. A secure pass\u00adwords has the fol\u00adlow\u00ading attributes:<\/p>\n

  1. The pass\u00adword length is at least eight characters.<\/li>\n
  2. The pass\u00adword con\u00adtains at least one low\u00ader case letter.<\/li>\n
  3. The pass\u00adword con\u00adtains at least one upper case letter.<\/li>\n
  4. The pass\u00adword con\u00adtains at least one digit.<\/li>\n
  5. The pass\u00adword con\u00adtains at least one spe\u00adcial char\u00adac\u00adter. Good fits usu\u00adal\u00adly are the excla\u00adma\u00adtion sign !, the pound # or the pound\u00a3. Some\u00adtimes, you can also use a dol\u00adlar sign $, the ver\u00adti\u00adcal bar | and oth\u00aders. It depends on the sys\u00adtem requir\u00ading a pass\u00adword, which spe\u00adcial char\u00adac\u00adters are valid or not.<\/li>\n
  6. No part of the pass\u00adword can be found in a dic\u00adtio\u00adnary, ency\u00adclo\u00adpe\u00addia or the\u00adsaurus of any arbi\u00adtrary lan\u00adguage in the world. This last point can\u00adnot be stressed often enough, because hack\u00aders try com\u00adplete dic\u00adtio\u00adnar\u00adies first when they try to iden\u00adti\u00adfy a password.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A sim\u00adple method for find\u00ading a mem\u00ado\u00adrable pass\u00adword is to find some attribute and break the name of that attribute into parts by inter\u00adrupt\u00ading it with num\u00adbers and spe\u00adcial char\u00adac\u00adters, inter\u00admin\u00adgling it with upper\u00adcase let\u00adter at ran\u00addom. The num\u00adber should be some\u00adthing that one can remem\u00adber eas\u00adi\u00adly, but no one else knows. The place inside the word where you put the num\u00adber is arbi\u00adtrary and is sup\u00adposed to make a hack\u00aders life more difficult.<\/p>\n
